Easy vegan steak and cheese pies


  • 1 onion
  • Fry’s chunky strips
  • Imitation cheese
  • 2 sheets of puff pastry
  • Gravy (your favorite recipe)
  • Coriander seeds
  • Almond milk (optional)


  • Thaw the puff pastry
  • Roughly chop the onion
  • Add onion to a pan with some olive oil and cook until soft
  • Add the beef strips, cook until tender, add coriander seeds
  • Finally add your gravy until the mixture has thickened (let your filling cool before using)
  • Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius
  • Roll out your pastry, and cut out circles for your pie base and top
  • Grease your muffin tin and fill each cup with a your puff pastry
  • Fill your pastry with the beef filling and top it off with a slice of cheese, then close your pie with another piece of pastry
  • Poke a hole in each pastry with a fork and brush lightly with almond milk
  • Put it in the oven for 15 – 20 until crispy and golden
